THE TAROT PROJECT is a community-based art project that has the intention to share the art of Floridian artists at the same time as to promote interaction with other artists and art-related events around the world.

We are happy to offer you the vision of 78 artists and to show how we appreciate the symbolism, art vision and history behind the Rider Waite Tarot. We understand The Tarot Project as an appreciation of the Rider Waite Tarot deck, the most popular of the 20th-century.  Female illustrator inspired by Art Nouveau, Pamela Colman Smith, collaborated with occultist Arthur Edward Waite to create the Rider Waite Tarot which was first published in 1909.

We have invited 78 professional and emerging artists, all of them residing in, visiting or loving Florida (USA) to create and interpret the Rider Waite Tarot. The cards were assigned for them to illustrate in their unique and memorable way. Seventy-eight art pieces were made on canvas, wood panel, or watercolor paper and will be part of the art event held in September 2022 at CCC in Tampa.

The variety of artists is awesome from different races, nationalities, sexual identities, and ages to ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds.

All the artwork is traditional art, and there are no digital alterations—the images used for the tarot deck are 100% handmade. Therefore the paintings are handcrafted, full of creativity, and spirit. The different perspectives of 78 artists intertwine, inspired by the Rite Waider, and translate into our surroundings.

This deck will be Limited Edition, independently published and distributed.
